Bebello Bottle Washer Review: Is It Worth It?

Our Bebello bottle washer review is very positive overall. We bought the Bebello 4-in-1 Bottle Washer, Steriliser, Dryer and Protector early in the newborn stage, when we were exhausted and already tired of washing bottles several times a day.

★★★★☆

Our Rating: 4 out of 5

A genuine time-saver for anyone washing bottles several times a day — worth the worktop space and the occasional descale.

Our Bebello Bottle Washer Review: Why We Bought It

We started the newborn stage using Tommee Tippee bottles. At that point, the routine involved taking every bottle apart, washing all the individual pieces and then putting everything through our separate UV steriliser.

We were repeating that process several times a day while already exhausted, so we bought the Bebello very early on. Later, we moved from Tommee Tippee to MAM bottles, which have even more separate pieces to clean.

The Bebello appealed to us because it could wash, sterilise, dry and then keep the bottles protected inside one machine. Instead of standing at the sink and moving everything between different appliances, we could load it, start the cycle and get on with something else.

How Many Bottles Fit?

We have seen claims that the Bebello can hold up to eight bottles, but that has not been realistic for us.

With our current setup, we can comfortably fit four large MAM bottles and all their separate components. Tommee Tippee and MAM bottles both take up a fair amount of space once dismantled, so smaller or simpler bottles may allow more to fit.

There is a shelf at the top for smaller pieces. The machine also has removable teat holders in the corners. We leave those in place, put the round MAM base pieces over them like a ring toss, and then place the teats on top. It makes all the small parts much easier to fit while still allowing them to be washed properly.

Filling and Draining It

The Bebello is not connected directly to the mains water supply. You fill the clean-water tank yourself before running a cycle.

Dirty water leaves through a drainage tube, which works well but means the machine needs to be positioned close to a sink. That is also convenient because the sink is right there when the water tank needs filling.

It takes up a noticeable amount of worktop space, so it is worth measuring before buying. It works best when it has a permanent position rather than being moved in and out of storage every day.

Does It Clean Properly?

We have been very happy with the cleaning performance. Bottles and their separate parts come out visibly clean, and we have not had problems with normal milk residue.

We still empty the bottles and rinse away anything substantial before loading them. We also check each piece before rebuilding the bottle, as we would with any cleaning method.

The biggest benefit is that washing, sterilising and drying all happen in the same machine. It can then keep everything protected inside until the bottles are needed.

Cleaning and Maintenance

The Bebello is convenient, but it is not maintenance-free.

We live in a hairy household, and hair can collect around the drain at the bottom of the machine. That area is awkward to reach, so we use tweezers to pull trapped hairs out. A small pipe-cleaning brush is also useful for scrubbing the bottom and getting into the harder-to-reach areas.

The small water nozzles can also become affected by limescale. Some of ours have become partially blocked, although we have not noticed any reduction in cleaning performance yet. Regular descaling helps prevent the build-up from getting worse.

We’ve also written a separate guide to Bebello bottle washer cleaning and descaling after six months of use.

Detergent Costs

The official Bebello detergent tablets are small and relatively expensive, particularly if the machine is being used frequently.

Cheaper compatible alternatives are available, which can reduce the ongoing cost. We would not use ordinary washing-up liquid or standard dishwasher tablets because they may foam too much or leave unsuitable residue.

Is the Bebello Worth It?

For us, yes.

It is not the cheapest way to wash and sterilise bottles. It takes up worktop space, needs regular cleaning and descaling, and the detergent adds an ongoing cost.

However, we bought it when we were exhausted and fed up with repeatedly washing bottles and running our UV steriliser. It removed a large amount of that hands-on work and gave us one less daily job to worry about.

It has done exactly what we wanted it to do, and we would buy it again.
