We wanted this too.

Whether you are tracking periods, hoping to conceive, preparing for birth or making sense of those first exhausting months with a baby, the last thing you need is another complicated, expensive app — or a different app for every stage.

We wanted one continuous place that could move with you: calm and useful before pregnancy, practical during it, quick enough to use one-handed after birth, and thoughtful enough to preserve the story behind all that data. So we started building First Time Family.

Which stages does First Time Family support?

First Time Family is a pregnancy and baby tracker app designed for the whole journey. You can start by tracking periods, move into tools for trying for a baby, follow pregnancy week by week, and then track feeds, sleep, nappies, pumping, growth, medicines, activities, milestones and memories after your baby arrives. Final launch features may evolve as we test the app with families.

Can I follow more than one journey at the same time?

Yes. Family life does not always happen one stage at a time. First Time Family is designed to let you keep separate journeys together and switch between them — for example, tracking an existing baby while following another pregnancy, or keeping individual records for more than one child.

Can I change stages later?

Yes. The app is designed to move with you, so you can change the stage you want help with as your circumstances and family journey change.

Where are my data and photos stored, and can I export them?

Your family data and photos stay locally in the First Time Family app on your own device. First Time Family does not upload or store them in an FTF cloud. You can export your data directly whenever you choose, so your family records are not locked inside our service. We are a security-conscious family ourselves and did not want photos of our own baby automatically stored online, so privacy and user control have shaped the app from the beginning.

How are my data and photos backed up?

The app creates a daily local backup on your device. Once a week, it prompts you to make a separate backup to a location or cloud provider of your choice. You decide where that backup is stored, and photos included in it are encrypted. First Time Family does not choose the provider or keep a copy in an FTF cloud.

How does the free month of Premium offer work?

Join the pre-release list before launch and we will email you with details of how to claim your first month of First Time Family Premium free when the app becomes available. No payment details are needed to join the list.

When will the app launch?

First Time Family is currently in development. Early-access members will be the first to receive launch news, previews and release details.

Is First Time Family medical advice?

No. The app is designed to help families organise records, routines and memories. It does not diagnose conditions or replace advice from a doctor, midwife, health visitor or other qualified professional.
