MAM vs Tommee Tippee Bottles: Why We Switched
Our MAM vs Tommee Tippee bottles comparison comes from using both during the newborn stage. We started with Tommee Tippee Advanced Anti-Colic bottles, but later switched to MAM Easy Start Anti-Colic bottles after advice from our midwives and local Infant Feeding Team—and because our baby clearly preferred them.

MAM Easy Start Anti-Colic Bottles: 4 out of 5
Easier for our baby to take, easier for us to clean, and seemingly less wind — the clear winner over Tommee Tippee in our house.
Quick verdict: MAM was easier for our baby to use, easier for us to clean and seemed to leave her with less wind. Tommee Tippee may suit other babies perfectly well, but MAM was the clear winner for us.

Why We Switched from Tommee Tippee to MAM
We started with Tommee Tippee Advanced Anti-Colic bottles when our baby was a newborn. They worked, but feeding never felt as natural as we hoped.
Our midwives and the Infant Feeding Team felt the Tommee Tippee teat was not the best shape for our baby’s latch and suggested trying MAM. Our baby accepted the MAM teat more easily, and feeding felt smoother after the change.
We also felt she had less wind once we switched. That is only our personal experience, not proof that MAM will reduce wind for every baby, but the difference was noticeable for us.
Bottle Shape and Cleaning
The Tommee Tippee bottle has a slight inner lip around the opening. When making smaller formula feeds, some milk could sit behind it instead of pouring out cleanly.
MAM bottles come completely apart, leaving the main body open at both ends. There are several pieces, but each one is easy to see, reach and clean.
The Tommee Tippee Advanced Anti-Colic bottle uses a venting wand with a small valve flap that needs opening and cleaning carefully. We found this more fiddly than the MAM base and valve.

How They Fit in Our Bebello Washer
We could fit roughly the same number of each brand in our Bebello bottle washer, although Tommee Tippee was more of a squeeze because the bottles and lids are wider.
The Bebello’s upper shelf has holes for the Tommee Tippee anti-colic wands to drop through, which is useful, but the long parts still occupy extra space. With MAM, we place the round bases over the Bebello’s corner teat holders and sit the teats on top.
Replacement Parts and Self-Sterilising
MAM sells teats, valves and other components separately. This meant we could replace individual parts or change teat flow without replacing everything, and reuse suitable components when moving to larger bottles.
Both bottle types we owned could also be self-sterilised in a microwave, which is useful when travelling or when a separate steriliser is unavailable. Follow the exact instructions for your bottle model and microwave.
MAM vs Tommee Tippee Bottles: Our Verdict
MAM was the better choice for our baby and our routine.
She seemed to find the teat easier to use, appeared to have less wind, and the removable base made the bottle easier for us to empty and clean. The separate replacement parts were another practical advantage.
Tommee Tippee bottles may be perfect for another baby. This is simply why we switched and why we have continued using MAM.
